Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK)
VPK Readiness Rates
Readiness Rates are determined by a series of assessments given to public kindergarten students in the first 30 days of Kindergarten. If your child attends a PRIVATE SCHOOL Kindergarten, it is your responsibility to have them assessed so that your VPK provider can receive an accurate Readiness Rate. Contact your local Duval County public elementay school, or visit the Duval County Public Schools website for additional information on having your child assessed.

Low Performing Providers (LPP) are those who fail to achieve a minimum kindergarten readiness rate that would demonstrate the provider’s satisfactory delivery of the VPK program. The minimum rate is adopted by the State Board of Education.
VPK Readiness Success Is A Collaborative Effort
“Jacksonville's VPK providers and our community partners deserve praise for the collaborative achievement we have made in our city to ensure educational success for our children.
Once again we have seen the difference a quality early education can make in the lives of Jacksonville’s youngest citizens and how it equips the children of Duval County with the tools they need to succeed in school.”
